Tuchel: PSG interested in Weigl

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Thomas Tuchel said the Ligue 1 champions are interested in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl.

Weigl has been a target for PSG since Tuchel s arrival at the start of 2018-19 after working under the German boss at Bundesliga outfit Dortmund.

The 23-year-old Germany international revealed he considered a PSG transfer in January, but was told to stay by Dortmund.

Tuchel – who is desperate to bolster his squad after PSG won Ligue 1 but fell short in the Champions League – was asked about Weigl at the French Open on Tuesday.

Guardiola on Diaz: If he doesn´t want to stay, he has to leave

Pep Guardiola insists Manchester City have done everything to secure Brahim Diaz on a long-term contract amid reports the youngster has agreed to join Real Madrid.

The 19-year-old former Malaga youngster signed for City in 2013 and scored his first senior goals with a brace in the 2-0 EFL Cup win over Fulham on November 1.

However, he is yet to add to five Premier League appearances from 2017-18, with competition fierce for attacking positions in Guardiola s side.

As such, Diaz looks set to join Jadon Sancho – the ex-City winger who moved to Borussia Dortmund last year and subsequently broke into the England setup – in seeking opportunities with another elite European club.

The case with Brahim is simple. We want him. We want to extend his contract…

BREAKING NEWS: Man City sign Ruben Dias as Otamendi joins Benfica

Manchester City have signed centre-back Ruben Dias from Benfica in a transfer worth an initial £62million (€68m) with Nicolas Otamendi heading the opposite way in a separate deal.

Portugal international Dias, 23, has been a regular for Primeira Liga side Benfica since emerging through the academy ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

Dias has been linked with a number of big-name clubs around Europe, including Manchester United, but rivals City have now reached an agreement with Benfica.

The Portuguese side confirmed the news on their official website on Sunday, shortly before announcing a €15m (£13.67m) deal is in place for Otamendi.

Van der Vaart: Isco the best player in the world

Rafael van der Vaart claims out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder Isco is the best player in the world as he struggles for game time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Isco s future in Madrid is uncertain, with head coach Santiago Solari continuing to overlook the Spain international amid links to Premier League champions Manchester City.

The 26-year-old has only made five LaLiga starts this season, though he was named in the starting XI on Wednesday as Madrid lost 1-0 to Leganes but still advanced to the Copa del Rey quarter-finals 3-1 on aggregate.

Former Madrid midfielder Van der Vaart who retired in November has been left baffled by Isco s snub.

It s crazy for me, he is the best player in the world, Van der Vaart told Marca.

But, he always has problem…

Jeremy Doku believes Manchester City’s quality makes it ‘easy’ for him to shine

Jeremy Doku claims it is easy to shine in a team as good as Manchester City.

The Belgian winger was the standout performer as the champions thrashed Bournemouth 6-1 to return to the top of the Premier League on Saturday.

Doku opened the scoring and then had a hand in the next four goals as the Cherries were overwhelmed in a one-sided encounter at the Etihad Stadium.

It continued the positive impression the 21-year-old has made since his £55.4million move from Rennes, but Doku himself was modest about his output.

“I’m very proud but in this team it is so easy because there is a lot of movement,” Doku said.

“Everybody is top and when you play with top players it is easy to find the right pass, to find the right time to do something.

Gattuso still not satisfied with Milan despite fourth straight win

Gennaro Gattuso urged AC Milan to deliver improved performances despite their fourth consecutive Serie A win moving them up to third.

Milan leapfrogged city rivals Inter thanks to Saturday s 1-0 home win against Sassuolo, which came thanks to a Pol Lirola own goal.

Sassuolo s hopes of a comeback were then dented when goalkeeper Andrea Consigli was dismissed for bringing down Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek.

The Rossoneri are unbeaten in nine games in all competitions and on track to reach the Coppa Italia final after a 0-0 first-leg draw away to Lazio in the last four, but Gattuso thinks his side can still improve.

I take the positive results against Empoli, Lazio and Sassuolo, but we have got to do better, the Milan coach told Sky Sport Italia.

Rabiot to reject Liverpool for Real?

According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot is set to reject signing with Liverpool in favour of making the move to Real Madrid. The 23 year old made his senior debut for PSG in 2012, and has been an instrumental member of their first team ever since. He also made his debut for the French national team in 2016, but has only made a handful of appearances ever since. Rabiot’s future has been an increasingly interesting topic for fans of PSG and French football as a whole, with the report in question stating that Rabiot will turn down Liverpool’s approach for him when his contract expires in just a few months time. Adrien’s interest in moving to the Bernabeu instead stems from his admiration of Zinedine Zidane, who recently returned …

Barcelona respond to Mediapro allegations

Barcelona say they will consider all legal actions to defend themselves after multimedia communications organisation Mediapro alleged the club and former president Sandro Rosell were involved in disclosing their business secrets.

Mediapro said on Thursday it had filed a criminal complaint against Rosell and Barca, along with other individuals and entities, in relation to disclosing business secrets, crimes against the privacy of Jaume Roures founding partner of Mediapro and aggravated theft.

Mediapro alleges the criminal activity took place between 2009 and 2011 and saw e-mails sent and received by Roures accessed and passed on to Rosell and Joan Carles Raventos, the former director for Barca s basketball section.

Among the e-mails said to have been accesse…

Prediction: West Ham vs Norwich

As for the visitors, while Norwich may have gained a string of admirers for their display against Chelsea at Carrow Road last weekend, the Canneries eventually slumped to a 3-2 defeat and Head Coach Daniel Farke will have some growing concerns over his sides defensive issues. Although they may have already crossed paths with both Frank Lampard s men and reigning European champions Liverpool in their opening three contests, the Yellows have already shipped eight goals, the worst record of any side in England s top-tier so far. Also looking to bounce back after being shockingly knocked out of the EFL Cup away at League Two outfit Crawley in midweek, there is no doubt that the former Borussia Dortmund coach will be looking for attacking talisman Teemu Pukki to extend his free-scoring start…

Fraser admits being distracted by Arsenal transfer talk

Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser admits he has been a little distracted by rumours linking him with Arsenal.

Reports in England emerged this month suggesting the Gunners are ready to move for the Scotland international, whose contract expires at the end of next season.

Fraser told Sky Sports this month I m not going to lie, it s very nice when asked about the suggestion he could move to Emirates Stadium for 2019-20.

Bournemouth have only won one of their last five Premier League matches, a 2-0 victory at Huddersfield Town in March, which was the last time Fraser got on the scoresheet.

The 25-year-old concedes he has probably had the transfer rumours on his mind too often of late.

Maybe it hasn t helped, he told BBC Scotland. Subconsciously, you mi…
