Pogba is not special like Cantona or Giggs, says Moyes

Paul Pogba is not a special Manchester United player like Eric Cantona or Ryan Giggs were, according to former manager David Moyes.

Moyes, who managed United for under a year before his Old Trafford sacking in April 2014, does not believe Pogba can make a key difference in the biggest matches.

The France international midfielder joined Jose Mourinho s side in what was then a world-record €105million deal last year, since surpassed by Neymar s €222m move to Paris Saint-Germain this month.

Moyes does not feel Pogba, 24, belongs in the highest bracket of players.

I think he s a top player, [but] I don t know if he s a player who completely makes a difference for Manchester United, Moyes said to ESPN.

I think that over the years Manchester Unite…

Millwall take Hooiveld on loan

Millwall have made their sixth signing of the January transfer window by taking Jos Hooiveld on loan from Southampton.

Jos Hooiveld has completed a loan move from Southampton to Championship side Millwall, where he will spend the rest of 2014-15.

The Dutchman was a key part in Southampton s promotion-winning campaign from the second tier in 2011-12, and made 25 Premier League appearances in the following season.

However, Hooiveld has fallen down the pecking in order in the past two years, and had a loan spell at Norwich City earlier this season.

It was announced on Monday that the defender has joined Millwall, who are toiling in the Championship s bottom three.

I want as much success as possible as many wins and as many clean sheets as we can whi…

Hertha Berlin 2 Bayern Munich 2: Sagnol denied by stunning comeback as Ribery limps off

Bayern Munich s difficult week continued as Hertha Berlin came from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw in a pulsating clash at the Olympiastadion, where Franck Ribery was forced off by a potentially serious knee injury.

Trailing 2-0 in the 49th minute, the home side turned the match around in the space of seven second-half minutes to dramatically deny Willy Sagnol a debut victory as Bayern boss.

Sagnol was installed on an interim basis following the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti on Thursday and appeared on course to start his stewardship with three comfortable points.

Dropped for the 3-0 defeat at Paris Saint-Germain, the result that cost Ancelotti his job, Mats Hummels joined Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery in the champions starting XI and dispatched an early header…

Krul set for Brighton switch

Brighton and Hove Albion are closing in on the loan signing of Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul, according to Sky Sports.

The Netherlands international played under Chris Hughton at Newcastle for just over two years and they could now be set to link-up once more with the Seagulls boss keen to bring in competition for summer signing Matthew Ryan.

Krul has racked up one hundred and eighty-five appearances for the North East club since making his debut in a Championship clash at West Bromwich Albion eight years ago.

He spent last season on loan in his home country first with Ajax where he didn’t make a single competitive appearance and then AZ who he played for twenty-two times in all competitions.

He has been capped eight times for his country wi…

Forza Motorsport’s Next Update Launches This Week, Tweaks Safety Rating

Turn 10 Studios has made great strides over the previous few months to address concerns with Forza Motorsport, like revamping car progression to unlock all parts at level 1. Its next update, which goes live sometime this week, will tweak Safety Ratings and their calculations, starting with bumping the required races to 20 from 10.

As per the developer, “This will put a greater emphasis on your longer-term racing trends. A safe racer with one bad race out of 20 will see little impact on their Safety Rating. A player with a low SR with one clean race out of 20 will see little impact on their rating. It also means that it will take longer for players to raise their SR.

“In addition to the shift to longer-term racing trends, there will be increase…

Next Battlefield Will Feature 64-Player Maps, Specialists Not Returning

EA has confirmed that the next Battlefield title is going to go back to a modern-day setting akin to what fans of Battlefield 3 and 4 will remember very well, and alongside that, other details have been released on the title as well. Being billed as a back-to-the-basics game for the franchise, unsurprisingly, the next Battlefield is also going to revert to a number of core tenets where its multiplayer is concerned.

For instance, though Battlefield 2042 introduced 128-player maps on current-gen consoles and PC, the change proved to be an unpopular one with players, causing developer DICE to eventually switch back to 64-player battles. With the next instalment in the series, we’ll be seeing the latter right off th…

10 Video Games Where Every Gameplay Decision Has Consequences

An important factor in providing a brutal experience is for game developers to inject a sense of realism into their games. Realism can be polarising of course, just look at the proliferation of unpopular eating mechanics in games. However, what the games on this rundown prove is that well implemented well, realistic decisions – no matter the wider context of the game at hand – can be punishing. And punishment isn’t just in death, but in the consequences survival has on mental wellbeing.

Pogba travels to Dubai for warm-weather rehabilitation

Manchester United and France midfielder Paul Pogba has travelled to Dubai to step up his rehabilitation in warm-weather conditions.

Pogba sustained a thigh injury in training while on international duty with Les Bleus and faces a spell on the sidelines.

The 28-year-old missed United s last two games against Tottenham and Manchester City having been shown a straight red card after coming off the bench in the second half of the Red Devils humiliating 5-0 defeat against Liverpool.

The club s next game against Watford on Saturday represents the third and final match of Pogba s suspension, though the Frenchman would not have been fit to feature in any case, with a return date not set.

After suffering the injury, Pogba released a video on social media that …
